Al Akhawayn University ranks first among Moroccan universities for the fifth consecutive year


Al Akhawayn University, for the fifth consecutive year, was ranked first among Moroccan universities in the QS University Rankings of the ‘Top 100 Universities in the Arab Region.’ According to the QS University Ranking, graduates of these top universities are more likely to hold high profile jobs. The ranking was released in Dubai on October 31, 2019, by the British Quacquarelli Symonds Company.  


This ranking is based on an assessment of a variety of indicators, in which Al Akhawayn University was compared to other Arab universities including faculty-student ratio, number of papers published per faculty member, citations obtained per publication, proportion of faculty who are international professors, faculty staff with PhDs, international proportion of the student body, and the effectiveness in the use of new technologies.  


QS World University Rankings is an annual publication of university rankings by British Quacquarelli Symonds Company, one of the most influential and widely observed university measures. It is interested in evaluating the state of global education by accounting for a variety of variables in higher education. Their rankings assess schools both nationally and regionally – one each for the Asia, Latin America, Emerging Europe, Central Asia, MENA, and BRICS regions.
