Al Akhawayn University organizes the 11th edition of AfricaCrypt
Al Akhawayn University in partnership with the International Association of Research in Cryptology (IACR) and with the support of the OCP Group, Attijariwafa Bank and Oulmès Mineral Waters, organized the 11th edition of the international conference AfricaCrypt on the theme "theory and practice cryptography", July 9-11, in Rabat. The conference aims to promote both research and the use of cryptography as a tool of digital trust, and therefore its development in Morocco and the African continent in general.
More than 50 experts from the professional, governmental and academic sectors were present to discuss and study the latest advances in cryptography including post-quantum cryptography. The themes selected were secret key algorithms (encryption and message integrity), cryptanalysis; cryptographic hash functions; public key algorithms, including network-based algorithms, authentication protocols, digital signature algorithms, the theory of numbers, and implementations and practical applications.
In addition to providing an international forum for researchers and academics from all over the world for presenting and discussing recent advances in cryptology and its applications, AfricaCrypt 2019 ambitions to attract practitioners from government, industry, and private sector interested in cryptology and its applications.
The organization of this conference is part of the efforts undertaken by AUI, since 2009, for the development of national skills in the areas of cyber security, information systems security, digital trust and technologies.
