AUI, a Sporting University

Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane organized, from 12 to 15 April, the fourth edition of the Med-Saharan Sports Challenge, the first multidisciplinary university sports tournament on the African continent. The event saw the attendance of more than 300 athletes from universities and colleges, and was charity-driven, to push the border of the Med Saharan Sports Challenge beyond sports promotion. The Med-Saharan Sports Challenge originated through the ambition of AUI student-athletes to create an international tournament regrouping university sports teams.

Under the auspices of the Federation of University Sports and as part of its ongoing vocation for the promotion of university sport, AUI’s Athletics Department organized the fourth edition of the National University Multisport Festival on 5 and April 6, 2019 in Ifrane. This fourth edition of the National University Multisport Festival was attended by 160 student athletes representing nine universities: Moulay Ismail University of Meknes, Sidi Med Ibn Abdullah University of Fez, Mohamed V University of Rabat, Hassan II University of Casablanca, Moulay University Beni Mellal Slimane, Hassan I University of Settat, Ibn Tofail University of Kenitra, Chouaib Doukkali University of El Jadida and Al Akhawayn University of Ifrane, the organizer of the event.
