Closing Ceremony of the Middle East and North Africa Regional Architecture (MENARA) Project
On February 21, 2019, Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane organized, in Rabat, the closing ceremony of the Middle East and North Africa Regional Architecture (MENARA) project funded by EU’s Horizon 2020.
The MENARA Project is a consortium of more than 20 universities and research institutions that work together to analyze and shed light on the social and geopolitical changes in the MENA region after 2011, with a focus on Morocco as a Key EU partner in the region. This project aims at identifying the factors that affect and shape the regional order through conducting several studies. The latter enable the EU to understand the dynamics of the MENA region and therefore outline tailored policies.
After three years of in-depth field research and interviews in many North African, Sahel and Middle Eastern countries, members of the European Commission, researchers, and policy makers met in Rabat to address security issues and highlight the future of the regional order.
