Presidential Interns Feature Series: Vol. 7
The 7th and final edition of the Presidential Interns Feature Series is Jessica Borgert. Jessica is working in both the Office of the Vice President of Student Affairs as well as the office of Housing and Residential Life. She is from Blaine, Minnesota, and graduated from Franklin University Switzerland in Lugano, Switzerland with a double major in International Relations and Communication and Media studies in the Spring of 2018.
After several alumni at Franklin University had participated and completed the AUI PiP program, and given her interest in working abroad, Jessica thought the Presidential Interns Program would be a perfect fit. Jessica wanted to take the opportunity to work in a university abroad, and to experience life in another country on another continent and experience a new culture.
Jessica came into this internship without any expectations but has the desire to learn whatever she is able to learn and experience any experience that is put in front of her. After she completes the internship, Jessica would like to continue working in an international university context, and potentially become a professor.
Since arriving to Morocco Jessica’s favorite part has been getting to know the staff and faculty at Al Akhawayn University, and helping her RA team by training and mentoring them. While here Jessica would like to continue improving the RA program and bring it towards a more traditional RA program, as well as make it more active. She would also like to help improve the administrative efficiency throughout the University.
