The Global Liberal Arts Alliance (GLAA) Conference to be held at AUI

Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI) has been selected to host the next Global Liberal Arts Alliance (GLAA) Conference this coming March, from the 4th to 6th.

Traditionally, the idea of “Liberal Arts” has evoked the image of an academic institution interested in honing not one, but all academic fields: Humanities, Social Sciences, Natural Sciences, and Fine Arts. AUI has followed this model, while giving it a uniquely Moroccan identity.

AUI offers all its students the opportunity to focus on their passions while simultaneously pursuing their other interests: we offer them the opportunity to develop themselves personally by acquiring transversal and transferable skills. Hosting the Annual GLAA Meeting means that AUI’s campus will unite a multitude of university presidents, chief academic officers, and liaison officers from “Liberal Arts” universities from around the world—all of which are GLAA members—in order to discuss the idea of “Liberal Arts”, border, and leadership.

Our University was chosen because of international standing: we hosted around 180 international students this year, we sent around 550 students abroad for at least one semester, and 40% of our faculty are non-Moroccan.

We hope that you will join us in helping us further develop our community within the global community.
