Going Global at Al Akhawayn

Ifrane, September 20, 2012 – The Office of International Programs at Al Akhawayn University organized on September 18, 2012 a reception to honor international students coming from different parts of the world as well as Al Akhawayn students returning from their study abroad programs.

Present at the ceremony were Al Akhawayn University President, university officials, and many students.

In his welcoming speech, President Ouaouicha offered students valuable advice to help them take advantage of their international experiences. “One’s mind should be open to see today’s world from different perspectives and to understand how the other thinks, reasons, and reacts,” he said. “There are challenging moments that you might live but these are very often the greatest opportunities to learn from. Those moments are important in fashioning the way you see the world, and impacting the way you react to it.”

This Fall semester, Al Akhawayn welcomed more than 100 visiting international students and 24 returning degree international students, and 179 Al Akhawayn students who were abroad during Spring 2012 and Summer 2012.
