Al Akhawayn Welfare Association Assists Staff in Need
Ifrane, September 19, 2012 – Al Akhawayn University Welfare Association donated 150 school bags and supplies to the children of university personnel on September 17, 2012.
In collaboration with the student-run association Hand in Hand, this action was carried out specifically to meet one of the needs expressed by some of the university staff at the beginning of this academic year.
“I thank very much the association for this kind initiative,” said Driss Maaroufi, a Security Agent at Al Akhawayn University. “Getting the school bags and supplies for my two children is very helpful and a financial relief for me.”
Four months after its renewal, Al Akhawayn Welfare Association has been working on enhancing its strategy by restructuring its internal organization and improving the social advantages and entertainment needs of the university personnel.
Supported by the University management, the association works on a voluntary basis through a 12-member board in addition to a considerable number of volunteers relentlessly working toward achieving its main goals. These include the contribution to support the social and economic interest of the university personnel; the organization of social, cultural, and sport activities; and the assistance in local and regional social initiatives.
