International Cooperation on Human Resource Development
Nizar Messari, Dean of Al Akhawayn School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS), and Al Akhawayn Human Resource Development (HRD) faculty Karim Moustaghfir, Benjamin Yumol and Hyung Joon Yoon, visited George Washington University (GWU) on February 17–23, 2013 as a way to strengthen the links between SHSS and GWU’s Graduate School of Education and Human Development, and between Al Akhawayn’s HRD program and GWU’s Department of Human and Organizational Learning.
The visit came as part of a mobility program that started in Spring 2012 to promote cooperation in HRD teaching, research, and practice between Al Akhawayn and GWU. During this visit, the HRD team had several meetings with GWU deans, officers, chairs, faculty, students and alumni.
Different collaboration venues were identified during the visit. Al Akhawayn’s HRD Team organized a lecture on “Human Resource Development Education and Practice in Morocco: Challenges and Opportunities” for GWU master’s and PhD students. The team also participated in the Educational Symposium for Research and Innovations (ESRI) as a special guest. The ESRI is an annual event organized by the Graduate School of Education and Human Development where Karim Moustaghfir presented this time his research on “Entrepreneurial Learning and Entrepreneurial Universities: Challenges and Directions.”
