Enrollment Staff Visit Liberal Arts Colleges
Four staff from Al Akhawayn Enrollment Services are taking part in a week-long development program at Kalamazoo College in Michigan, US, from February 25 to March 1, 2013.
With the objective of increasing international mobility for university employees as stipulated in Al Akhawayn’s Strategic Plan 2010-2014, a professional development plan was elaborated in cooperation with Sarah Westfall, Vice President for Student Development and Dean of Students in Kalamazoo College.
The plan, supported by Al Akhawayn President Driss Ouaouicha and the Global Liberal Arts Alliance (GLAA), constitutes one of the key strategic actions of the GLAA to promote the exchange of knowledge, expertise, and experience among institutions committed to further enhancing Liberal Arts education.
For a week, Enrollment Services Director Latifa Ouanaim, Registration Officer Karima Derkaoui, Admissions and Outreach Coordinator Smail Mojahid, and Financial Aid Coordinator Abdallah Alaoui Mhammedi will be attending training sessions on the mission of enrollment services, student recruitment, admissions and registration processes,student orientation, student development prpgrams, financial aid, and academic advising.
The team from Al Akhawayn University will also be visiting three Liberal Arts Colleges in Michigan: Kalamazoo College, Hope College, and Albion College. Al Akhawayn team will meet with officers and staff from the three colleges and will be presenting the university to them.
