Developing Sports for Education
80 children from 17 different cities in Morocco are camping at Al Akhawayn University for one week to perform a series of sport and different other activities. 8 national and international coaches and instructors supervise the camp activities which count basketball, swimming, fitness, interpersonal and team building skills workshops, foreign language lessons, art and entertainment. “Our choice for Al Akhawayn is strategic,” said Mohamed Amine Zariat, President of TIBU-Morocco. “In addition to making the young campers benefit from the high-quality campus facilities within this educational and sports camp, our ultimate goal is to inspire and encourage them to pursue higher education studies.”
TIBU-Morocco is a not-for-profit association founded by young students from different academic institutions in Morocco. Their main objective is to contribute to the development and promotion of academic basketball schools in Morocco. TIBU believes that this camp is a way to ensure sustainable development of this sport in children through athletic, educational, and cultural activities.
