Mission Statement and Vision

Our Mission

Our goal is outreach in the Ifrane region, in particular to promote the importance of literacy and health. Activities range from tutoring classes in local schools and youth centers, improving access to books and reading through the AUI Mobile Library, assisting as translators and facilitators on dental campaigns and medical checkups, coordinating a clothes and shoes bank and delivering to communities in need. The annual Fun Run, organized by AUI students, is a key fundraiser attracting national media attention – money raised in previous years has gone to equipping local schools with heating, electricity and transport.

Our Vision

The Hand in Hand Association seeks to honor AUI’s mission in terms of social responsibility and civic engagement. It does so through the involvement of students and alumni in projects aimed at:

• increasing and improving schooling of rural children through its ongoing tutoring programs around the year and the various actions geared towards creating an environment conducive to learning and achievement;
• empowering women in rural areas through revenue-generating projects and capacity building trainings;
  reducing the illiteracy and unemployment rates among the underprivileged populations in the Ifrane province;
• improving the living conditions of special-needs children and needy people.
