The 10th Edition of the Africacrypt Conference
Mogador Opera, Fez, Morocco
May 7-9, 2018, Mogador Opera, Fez, Morocco.
Al Akhawayn University organizes in collaboration with the International Association for Cryptology Research (IACR) and with the support of Société Marocaine de Monétique (S2M) the 10th edition of the Africacrypt conference (http://africacrypt2018.aui.ma) May 7-9, 2018, Mogador Opera, Fez, Morocco.
The conference seeks to promote the use and research in the field of cryptology in Africa in general, and in Morocco and the North and West Africa region in particular, as a tool for trust in the cyberspace, leading to Development of the continent.
Like its predecessors, this edition will feature outstanding research presentations (acceptance rate is <30%) in areas as diverse as public key encryption, symmetric encryption, homomorphic encryption, authentication protocols, cryptanalysis, number theory and last but not least, high-performance implementations of encryption algorithms. The final program co-chaired by Prof. Antoine Joux, Chair of Cryptology at l’UPMC-Sorbonne Universités, Paris, Prof. Abderrahmane Nitaj, and Prof. Tajjeeddine Rachidi from Al Akhawayn University is available on the website of the conference, and features two keynote speeches by two of the world most known scientists in the domain of cryptography, namely Joan Daemen and Leo Ducas from the Netherlands.
It is worth mentioning that Al Akhawayn University, in its efforts to contribute to the promotion of cyber-security, had organized in 2009 the first Regional Conference on cyber-security in collaboration with the Ministry of Trade, Industry and New Technologies in 2012, and the 5th and 8th editions of Africacrypt in 2012 and 2016 in collaboration with the IACR.
