 CLE Coordinator: Dr. Mhammed Chraibi (Extension: 2185)

Dr. Mhammed Chraibi holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (2006) and A Master of Science in Software Engineering (2010) from Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane (AUI). He also holds a PhD in Computer Science (2017) from Ecole Mohammadia des Ingenieurs (EMI), Mohamed V University. During his studies he has received “Prime d’excellence” from Academia foundation, Merit-based scholarship from Al Akhawayn University, Honors scholarship from the Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO), and Bourse d’Excellence from l’Ecole Mohammadia des Ingenieurs. He has worked for a year as a graduate researcher at the Laboratory for Scientific Instrumentation and Engineering (LaSIE), in the department of applied physics at Osaka University. Now, In addition to teaching introductory Computer programming classes to Engineers, He is managing the Center for Learning Excellence (CLE) at AUI that he has co-created after receiving the Presidential Innovation Fund. The CLE is the first center in Africa and the Middle East to receive the prestigious College Reading and Learning Association (CRLA) certification for both its tutor and mentor training programs. His research interests are in the field of mobile computing, policy-based systems, context-aware systems, security, ambient networks, cloud computing, and smart grid. He has also developed an interest for research in the field of education mainly in how to ease student integration in college and help them achieve their full potential when they come from a different system of education.

 

CLE Junior Coordinator: Fatima Drar (Extension: 2484)

Fatima Drar, one of the Junior Coordinators at the Center for Learning Excellence, is a graduate of Al Akhawayn and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Development. She enjoys helping her AUI community and is interested in the fields of Psychology and CSR.

 

CLE Junior Coordinator: Soukaina Aijou (Extension: 2373)

Soukaina Aijou, the Center for Learning Excellence Junior Coordinator, is a recent graduate from Al Akhawayn University and has a Master Degree in International Studies and Diplomacy. She worked as a teacher at Al Akhawayn School in Ifrane before joining the team. She hopes to pursue a PhD in renewable energy diplomacy or cyber terrorism in Scandinavia.

 

CLE Presidential Intern: Chloe-Kate Abel

Chloe-Kate Abel, originally from New York City, joins the CLE this year as a Presidential Intern. She is a recent graduate of the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and holds a bachelor’s degree in Arabic and Persian Language, Literature, and Culture. She also holds a TEFL teaching certification from the TEFL Academy. Beyond languages, she is interested in the politics of culture specifically regarding music and cinema in the MENA region, and hopes to pursue a career in this field someday.
