Ahmed Legrouri, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Khalid Sendide, Associate Professor of Chemistry and Program Coordinator in the Al Akhawayn School of Science and Engineering, co-authored a chapter published in National Journeys: Towards Education for Sustainable Development, a publication of the Paris Office of UNESCO.

National Journeys towards Education for Sustainable Development documents how societies use learning and education to address sustainability challenges. It gives concrete examples of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) with regard to both policy and practice in different sectors of society. The publication showcases national progress in ESD in each one of the five world regions by presenting case studies from Costa Rica, Morocco, Sweden, South Africa, and Vietnam. The publication indicates how these countries have introduced ESD according to their environmental context, history and sustainability challenges. These examples are intended to serve as a source of inspiration for others wishing to develop ESD projects. A pdf version is available at: http://unesdoc.unesco.org/images/0022/002210/221008e.pdf
