  • Shalin Guillen is currently ASI’s Kindergarten Teacher. Shalin was born and raised in the rainy state of Oregon, USA. Shalin graduated from the University of Oregon, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in both French language and literature and International Business. Shalin is trilingual and fluent in the following languages: English, Spanish and French. Before working at ASI, Shalin worked as a Primary English Teacher in three French primary schools in Lyon, France. Shalin believes that being a teacher is one of the most important and rewarding jobs in the world: teachers are “the only profession that creates all others.” She places high value on multiculturalism and cultural identity. Therefore, inclusion and acceptance of all students is crucial in creating a safe and strong classroom environment and bond. Shalin is a cat, chocolate and coffee-lover. When she is not working, Shalin enjoys planning her next adventure, learning Moroccan Darija, and spending quality time with her friends and family.
