Applying for Student EmploymentBefore the end of the semester, all enrolled AUI undergraduate and graduate students have the possibility to apply for a part time job for the subsequent semester by completing the Student Employment Application Formand submitting it to the Financial Aid Office. The Financial Aid Office reviews all the part time job applications by checking the work study requirement eligibility and preparing a detailed report for a meeting with the Vice President for Student Affairs and the Director of the Enrollment Services to decide on the new part time job offers. Then, the Financial Aid Office proceeds into the work study assignment program.
Within the same context, some students may be interviewed for job placement by their future supervisors. Our Office also tries to take into consideration the students' interests and abilities as well as the needs of the various University Departments. Part time job supervisors are not authorized to hire any student without the letter of appointment delivered by the Financial Aid Office.
All student assignment areas are mentioned on the back page of the part time job application form in order to ensure a fair, equal, and nondiscriminatory employment opportunity for all interested applicants.
At the beginning of the semester, the Financial Aid Office sends an e-mail to eligible students notifying them of their employment offer. These students are immediately requested to drop by the financial aid office to pick up their assignment letters. They are also required to accurately complete the student employee timesheet with their appropriate supervisors on a weekly basis. The timesheet has to reach the Financial Aid Office by the end of the semester.
