Scholarship Renewal PolicyUndergraduates (Bachelor Students)
Undergraduate beneficiaries are eligible for AUI scholarship for a maximum of nine (9) semesters including one semester at the Language Center. The continuation of the scholarship depends on the student demonstrating excellence and successful progress towards the student's studies, as evidenced by maintaining a Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) of at least 3.00/4.00. If the SGPA falls between 2.50 and 2.99 the student will be placed on scholarship probation. Failure to return to the required standing, deduction or suspension of the scholarship will apply as described in the table below:
Students with a SGPA between 2.90 and 2.99 may write an appeal for the scholarship committee. If the appeal is rejected, the probationary status will apply. If the appeal is accepted, the student is required to return to normal standing (SGPA of 3.0 or above) for the following semester; otherwise, s/he will be placed on scholarship probation without the possibility to write an appeal.
Appealing to be removed from scholarship probation is applied to scholarship holders who are placed on first time scholarship probation. The appeal can be made only once during the undergraduate studies. To consider the appeal, school's recommendation, parents' financial situation, and student's involvement in social work or other university activities will be taken into consideration.
Decisions regarding deduction or suspension based on the spring academic results are applied to the following summer and fall. However, summer session results are not taken into account either for probation, suspension or reinstatement.
A separate scholarship system is also applicable to students enrolled in Language Center courses with or without regular courses in their first or second semester at AUI. Students are allowed to benefit from their AUI scholarship package for one semester only while at the Language Center. They must pay for every language center course they are left with for the following semester(s). The cost of one Language Center course corresponds to that of a 3-credit course: 5400 MDH.
The scholarship renewal policy adopted by AUI is also applicable to students on exchange at the end of their exchange program semester. Passing grades are determined in the Transfer Grades Chart available at the Office of the Registrar and communicated by the Office of International Program to students when applying to partner universities.
Graduates (Master Students)
Graduate beneficiaries are eligible for AUI scholarship for a maximum of 4 (four) semesters including one semester at the Language Center. The scholarship renewability depends on demonstrating excellence and successful progress in student's studies, as evidenced by maintaining a Semester Grade Point Average (SGPA) of at least 3.5/4. If the SGPA falls between 3.00 and 3.49, the student will be placed on scholarship probation. Failure to return to the required standing, deduction or suspension of the scholarship will apply as described in the table below:
Graduate students benefiting from full tuition or above are required to perform 05 hours per week (80 hours per semester) of unpaid student employment.
Students with a SGPA between 3.40 and 3.49 may write an appeal to the scholarship committee. If the appeal is rejected, the probationary status will apply. If the appeal is accepted, the student is required to return to normal standing (SGPA of 3.50 or above) for the following semester; otherwise, s/he will be placed on scholarship probation without the possibility to write an appeal.
Appealing to be removed from scholarship probation is applied to scholarship holders who are placed on first time scholarship probation. The appeal can be made only once during the graduate studies. To consider the appeal, school's recommendation, parents' financial situation, and students' involvement in social work or other university activities is taken into consideration. Decisions regarding deduction or suspension based on the spring academic results are applied to the following summer and fall. However, summer session results are not taken into account either for probation, suspension or reinstatement. A separate scholarship system is also applicable to graduate students enrolled in Language Center courses with or without regular or foundation courses in their first or second semester at AUI. Students are allowed to benefit from their AUI scholarship package for one semester only while at the Language Center. They must pay every language center course they are left with for the following semester(s). The cost of one Language Center course corresponds to that of a 3-credit course: 6750 MDH.
Graduate scholarships do not cover foundation courses unless expressly authorized by the school's graduate scholarship committee. A graduate scholarship beneficiary who obtains a failing grade in a foundation course will be placed on scholarship probation for the following semester. If s/he is unable to regain satisfactory standing at the end of the probationary status and if s/he is authorized to continue in the program, s/he will be placed on 2nd time scholarship probation with 50% scholarship reduction until such time as s/he satisfies the scholarship renewal requirements. Failure to return to the required standing, reduction or suspension of the scholarship will apply.
