ITS Mission

Information Technology and Systems department is focused on using technology to support Al Akhawayn University’s core mission of higher education.

Its mission is to deliver on the edge high performance computing facilities for AUI community, based on the underlying infrastructure and in a hope to meet the expectations of all our users, ITS employees will strive to support the university use of technology as a competitive advantage and as an efficient weapon to triumph over the challenges of excellence.

Employees as key resource: ITS employees are a key resource enabling the delivery of IT solutions and systems. Therefore, ITS is striving hard to provide them with competitive salaries, recognition, state-of-the-art equipments, training, and an enjoyable workplace.

Partnerships with customers: ITS is building a partnership relation with its customers (AUI community) to develop and deliver timely solutions for their specific needs. ITS is valuing customers as collaborators in our joint quest for excellence. The focus is on reaching solutions that are reliable, easy to acquire, and easy to use. The ITS organization is structured to maximize the value of information & technology to its customers.

Policies, procedures, and standards: ITS engage in a dialogue with its customers about the substance and rationale of establishing policies, procedures, and standards. ITS advocate the use of and adherence to standards as a key factor for providing a scaleable, common computing environment with solutions developed to interact smoothly and seamlessly.

Consistent, reliable services: ITS strives hard to deliver consistent, reliable information technology services to AUI community, the keywords are convenience and cost-effectiveness. In order to reach excellence, ITS supports solutions and initiatives which provide increased efficiency and effectiveness while continuing to emphasize on the need to improve the collaboration and communication thanks to the use of IT enabled systems.

ITS is contributing to satisfy the university IT needs, modernizing and extending AUI’s computing facilities and resources.

Effective use of resources: As responsible for critical institute’s resources, ITS works in collaborative and integrated teams with customers to ensure that the resources are effectively, equitably, and efficiently maintained and used.

The efforts to reduce costs and improve performance are a continuous concern.

Partnerships with vendors for IT solutions: ITS also develops partnerships with vendors to customize and adapt their products and services to meet AUI needs. ITS actively monitors industry and technology trends and works with vendors to introduce appropriate, reliable, and accessible products to AUI community and beyond.
