2007 Technology in Government in Africa (TIGA) Awards programme.

The Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) and the Canadian e-Policy Resource Center (CePRC) has nominated a project run by Professor Kettani for the 2007 Technology in Government in Africa (TIGA) Awards programme (http://www.uneca.org/disd/events/2007/tiga/main.html).

The Awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on the evening of Tuesday, 1st May 2007 at Sheraton Addis during the fifth Committee on Development Information (CODI V) which will be held from 29 April to 4 May 2007 (http://www.uneca.org/codi/) in the presence of over 300 African delegates from all over Africa including the Diplomatic Corps based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as well as representatives of donors and partners engaged in providing support to the development of a sustainable Information Society in Africa.

ECA and CePRC are organising this pioneering programme, that aims to encourage the use of information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the delivery of public services, and recognise the work of African Governments in the effective use of ICTs for public services delivery to citizens contributing to the development of the Information Society on the continent.
